As with all of our archiving services, a good rule: if you bring in a physical mess, you'll get a digital mess in return.
You could run your photos through a home scanner — but consumer equipment is built for documents, not memories. Our professional-grade scanners capture true optical resolution, accurate color depth, and tonal range that home scanners can't match. Every scan includes basic color correction and auto-orientation, reviewed by a real person. Our equipment is calibrated regularly for consistent results across every project. And your originals are handled with care by experienced archivists — never fed through rollers that weren't designed for delicate or aging media. When your project is complete, everything is returned to you. Your photos never leave our Muskegon facility.
From digitizing a single photograph to professionally converting an entire generation of family photographs, we've seen it all. Work with one of our archiving consultants to outline solutions that fit your needs. Service times vary by project but many orders can be completely within 2-3 business days.

First, drop off your printed memorabilia to be scanned and digitized at our store. A few days later – return to pick up your digital storage device (USB drive, digital download or DVDs etc.). These will contain each scanned image as a .jpg file. Prints are scanned at the original size of the print with resolution of 300dpi. Front and back scanning is available. Your items never leave our property or get shipped away. Finally, all original items are returned to you after the process is complete.
We accept loose prints ranging from wallet size (2"x3") up to 8"x10". For best results, prints should be in good physical condition — free of adhesive, sticky residue, or Post-it notes on the back, and without any rips or tears. Rigid or thick formats like Polaroids need to be assessed separately. If any of your prints don't meet these guidelines, we'll let you know at drop-off and discuss the best alternative approach. When in doubt, bring them in — we're happy to take a look before you commit to a full project.
Your irreplaceable photographs are one-of-a-kind and priceless memories. Shipping memorabilia to an out-of-state facility is a risk we don't think you should have to take. Beyond the security of keeping everything local, we also offer a level of organization and customization that's hard to find elsewhere. Every project is different, and we tailor our process to fit your specific needs.
